Real barriers to employment for people with disability led to the creation and ongoing successful execution of this marvellous event, brand, and production project.

The Challenge:

More than 1 million Australians with disability who want to work can’t find suitable employment and enjoy the same rates of pay as other members of the community. System-change and new thinking is needed to create new opportunities for people with disability and employers.

The solution:

ImpactInstitute, in partnership with the Australian Government, created a series of disability employment expo events to connect employers and people with disability – from the ground up. The marketing strategy is based on an integrated approach across both B2B (employers, business, services, government, advocacy) and B2C (people with disability/ families and carers).

Outcome:

The unique difference and value of Workability is a two-way connection between people with disability and employers – not just connecting people with disability to employers, but to each other. So far, hundreds of people with disability have met with key employers at three events – with many more to come across 2025 and 2026.
